MAKING MOM PROUD!!!

The medal around Mikelle's neck is from last weekends softball tournament. It was her first official tourney. They played two 1 hour games...But there were actually some teams from Hawaii, and they did a gift exchange just like the older girls do when they play Hawaiian teams. Mikelle was named player of the game by the opposing team in one of the games. She really is fun to watch play. Yesterday her and Miah came to my practice for "take your child to work day", and my college players look at her and remember how fun it was to play the game just because you love it. The little ones always hold lifes lessons in their hands!! The certificate and the bumper sticker she is holding are for her "student of the month" at school award. Not a bad week for our little 6 year old.Miah is holding a certificate for making A-B Honor Roll. She is so good about doing her school work and staying organized and all of those important things. Miah is all jazzed about this weekend because her team is playing in a softball tournament in town. Last season her team took 2nd place in this tournament. She has been working real hard at pitching lately, and has been able to pitch in her first couple of games. She is definitely the fastest pitcher in her age group, she just needs a bit more control. When she is practicing she is pretty accurate, I think she is still a bit nervous since it is all kind of new to her. Charles and Madi and two of her friends left after school today for Fresno, CA. Madi's team is playing in a tournament there. Do we sound a bit busy? Well don't forget that tomorrow is my college teams last regular season games, so it is sophomore day. So I have been arranging the bbq, and the framed pictures and such. One more week or so of craziness and then its the summer off for me! Yeah-----

Today is my beautiful sister's birthday. Most of you know her as "eight crazy". She is definitely a bit crazy- she gets that from me! Ha Ha- I wish I was there to celebrate with her and eat cake and go bowling. One of these days soon, maybe we will move back to Washington and we can celebrate these special days together. As a tribute to my sister I am going to list 8 things that I love about Shannon. Please feel free to do the same thing under comments.

7. I love her 2 beautiful, charming and adorable kids.
8. I love the fact that she is my one and only sibling. If you can only have

EYE APPOINTMENT TODAY!

Later today, Madison and I go for our eye exams. I have always had good eye-sight, and just recently have noticed some small changes. My bigger concern is for Madison. She asked to move to the front of the class in reading because she couldn't read the overhead projector, she couldn't read the words going across the tv screen when we were playing the American Idol Game. Then, the other day she asked if she could play the game on my cell phone and I said no because the battery was already on red. She couldn't see the red, and didn't believe me. I will keep y'all posted. Now back to the American Idol Game...It's a lot of fun- You actually sing a song and then Randy, Paula and Simon critique you. I love just belting it out! We play on our WII, but they also have it for other systems. It would make a great Christmas gift for the kids!

My Poor Baby!

Over the weekend my sweet little girl got a black-eye playing softball. At the time she was wearing sunglasses. Both lens broke and the frames went flying. One of those scary moments. Other than the black and blue thing going on, she is doing fine. No pain, and vision is good. Speaking of vision...next Monday- Madison and I are going for eye exams. I haven't had one since my freshman year in college, and Madison hasn't had one except for the ones they give them at school. Just recently I have noticed a little difference in how I see things. The other day we were playing the American Idol game on the Wii, and she had a hard time reading the lyrics at the bottom of the screen. So I will let yall know in a week.

Wonderful Weekend Away!

Last weekend I got to fly home to Vancouver, and then head up to the Puegot Sound with some life long friends. Most of us went to school together our whole lives. I moved to Vancouver in the 2nd grade, and met Erica and Colette first. We were like the 3 musketeers. What fun memories! We soon began to play soccer and that is where we met Michelle and Cathy. Most of us in the above picture went to Jason Lee Jr. High School. Except for Vikki and Jenny. They went to that other lame school, I think it was called Gaiser, or something like that. Ha Ha! Colette left us in the 10th grade when her family moved to the Tacoma area. My point is basically, that all of these lovely, beautiful women have been my dear friends for many years. The whole group of us, Erica, Michelle, Cathy, Christina, Colette, Jenny, Vikki, Carolyn, and myself had a fun weekend of talking, WALKING on the beach, watching movies, eating good food, taking naps, and lots and lots of laughing! It is our plan to make this an annual things. Infact, they are planning on coming to my neck of the woods next year.
Vikki had the biggest surprise of the weekend when she told us that she was 12 weeks pregnant. We were all shocked and excited to hear about her news. Vikki has a daughter, Lauren. Lauren is something pretty special just like her mom. They both have a very special place in my heart. It was really amazing to just sit up late and talk with everyone! 8 out of 10 of us are married. I think I have been married the longest and my children are the oldest. Colette has 2 girls who are pretty close in age to my girls. It's been a long time since I have seen Colette. I forgot how much fun her and I have together. Since the weekend, Colette's husband, Brad got into a very serious car accident. He is still on a ventilator, and might need spinal surgery. His lung and kidneys were damaged. Please keep him in your prayers. Jenny and her husband have one beautiful daughter and are trying to adopt again. I love her quiet strength.
She seems like a great mom. Carolyn and Scott have been married about 7-8 years. Madison was their flower girl. They live in the Seattle area. As always, Carolyn was the life of the party. Her ability to connect with everyone in the room is one I admire! I love her laugh, and she brings the best desserts ever. Lol!
Cathy and her husband live in Colorado. She is the mother of two beautiful, fun-loving kids. Cathy is still the greatest story teller. She had us laughing and grossing out with all her stories of the snakes near their home. Ugh! Michelle hosted the weekend. I am so thankful for her seeing this weekend come to fruition. This cabin has been in her family since the 1940's. It's a wonderful, amazing place. Thanks for a spectacular time Michelle. The soccer was loads of fun. Erica, is still so stinkin' cute. She still manages to be the last one ready. It's funny how some things never change. Erica still managed to take a nap!I love chatting with Erica, it's just so easy. It's as if we have never lived a part. Christina is married to Darin. I went to school with Darin from 2nd grade thru high school graduation. They make the sweetest couple, and have two of the most adorable girls ever! I rode in the car with Christina both ways, as well as Cathy, and we had so much fun remembering old times. I love them both so much! All in all, much fun was had. I look forward to many more weekends together over the years.
I also got to see my family while I was home. I got to hang at the house with my parents and my Nanny! I whipped my Nanny in my first game of Phase 10. She is waiting for the re-match. (September- Nanny!) Of course, my mom cooked some good dinners, and took me out for breakfast. Then on Monday, Shannon and the family came over for more fun!! I love and miss them all very much-

QUICK POST!!

Well, last Thursday I traveled to Washington for a girls weekend. I had a tremendous time and will write more about that later, when I can post the pictures. But just wanted to write a quick blog, since it's been a while. I went to quick care today. I have allergies, and a upper respiratory infection. I am feeling pretty lousy. I leave tomorrow morning on another softball trip. Miah is coming with me this time. Which is good, because she always takes good care of me. I started anti biotics today, and some allergy meds, as well as some nose spray. So hopefully, that will all do the trick. I have never known myself to have allergies before, hopefully they don't last long. Even though I am rather busted up physically, I am doing fantastic emotionally. Marriage has never been better. It's as if all my dreams of marriage are coming true. I will post more about the weekend with all kinds of pictures next week. Love to all my adoring fans!
